As part of the second day's events of Environmental Week, the Fish Farming and Technology Institute at Suez Canal University welcomed Prof. Dr. Dina Abu Al-Maati, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, on Tuesday, April 22, 2025.
She was received by Prof. Dr. Mohamed El-Tabie, Dean of the Institute, Prof. Dr. Mervat Ali, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development, Prof. Dr. Sami Abdelmalek, Vice Dean for Postgraduate Studies and Research, and Mrs. Jehan Ezzat, Institute Secretary.
The visit aimed to follow up on the environmental and community service activities organized by the Institute and to reaffirm the University’s commitment to linking academic disciplines with community service and environmental development.
During her field tour, Prof. Dr. Dina inspected various units at the Institute, including hatchery and rearing facilities, as well as specialized research laboratories. She praised the Institute’s capabilities and its role in serving the local community through the production and distribution of fish.
The visit coincided with the organization of an awareness seminar on “First Aid”, delivered by Dr. Heba Ahmed Galal, Lecturer in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology Nursing, Faculty of Nursing, Suez Canal University. The seminar covered essential first aid principles and how to respond to emergencies, thereby enhancing awareness among students and staff of the importance of readiness and quick intervention in health-related situations.
Additionally, the day featured a practical activity involving fish harvesting and sorting, followed by the sale of fish products to the public. This reflects the Institute’s role in community service by providing high-quality food products at affordable prices, exemplifying the integration of education, production, and community engagement.
