The Fish Farming and Technology Institute at Suez Canal University welcomed a scientific visit by second-year students on Sunday, April 19, 2026, as part of its role in supporting the educational process and enhancing students’ practical skills.
The visit aimed to introduce students to the latest scientific and applied activities carried out by the Institute in the field of aquaculture, and to provide them with the opportunity to explore modern production systems and technologies used across its various units.
During the visit, Prof. Dr. Mervat Ali Mohamed, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development, delivered a lecture addressing the fundamentals and importance of aquaculture, along with an overview of the most prominent modern practices and technologies in this field.
The visit was also organized and supervised by Dr. Asmaa Omar, Lecturer in the Department of Fish Disease Control in Aquaculture, in the presence of several teaching assistants: Ahmed Mohamed (Department of Aquatic Hatchery Production), Ibrahim Desouki (Department of Fisheries Technology), and Alaa Abdel Aal (Department of Fisheries Technology). They contributed to explaining the practical aspects and responding to students’ inquiries.
The visit also included a field tour inside the Institute’s units, where students observed fish sorting processes and learned about the different stages of production, in a hands-on experience that enhanced their applied knowledge.
This comes within the Institute’s commitment to transferring scientific and practical expertise to students and contributing to the preparation of qualified graduates capable of meeting labor market demands.
